What we collect, and why

The Storage and Memory Signal (aiinfraenergy.com) is an independent newsletter operated by AiInfraEnergy.com Editors ("we", "us", "our"). We are the data controller for the personal information described on this page.

Email address. When you use the subscribe form, we collect the email address you provide so we can send you the weekly newsletter. That's the only field we ask you to fill in; a hidden "honeypot" field in the same form exists purely to catch automated spam submissions and is never shown to real visitors.

Standard server logs. Like almost every website, our content delivery/hosting infrastructure automatically logs technical details of each request — IP address, browser/user-agent string, timestamp, and the page requested — for security, abuse prevention, and reliability. We don't combine these logs with your email address, and we don't use them for advertising or profiling.

We do not collect payment information, government IDs, precise location, biometric data, or any other sensitive category of personal data.

This site does not set cookies, does not run analytics scripts (no Google Analytics, no ad pixels), and does not embed third-party trackers of any kind. Nothing here builds an advertising profile of you. If that ever changes, we'll update this policy first and ask for your consent before any non-essential cookie is set, as required under UK/EU cookie law (PECR/ePrivacy).

We use your email address for one purpose: to send you the newsletter you signed up for, and operational messages about your subscription (like a confirmation that you've unsubscribed). We use server logs to keep the site secure, debug problems, and understand aggregate traffic — never to identify individual visitors.

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone, and we don't use it for advertising.

We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run the newsletter, all acting as data processors on our behalf:

• Cloud hosting and content delivery — to serve this website and keep its access logs.
• Email delivery — to send the weekly newsletter to subscribers.
• Subscriber database — to store the list of subscriber email addresses.

All of these run on infrastructure based in the United States. That's the complete list — we don't use any analytics vendor, ad network, CRM, or marketing platform beyond this.

We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. Every issue includes an unsubscribe link — using it removes you from our active sending list. You can also ask us to delete your data entirely at any time (see "Your rights" below), and we'll do so without requiring you to give a reason.

If you're in the UK or EU, UK GDPR / GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, to object to or restrict our processing of it, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).

If you're a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request its deletion, and to opt out of its sale — which is moot here, since we never sell personal information.

This site is served entirely over HTTPS, and subscriber data is stored with access restricted to us. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your information.

Because our infrastructure is hosted in the United States, using this site involves transferring your data there. Where UK/EU transfer rules apply, we rely on our providers' own compliance mechanisms (including standard contractual clauses) to make that transfer lawful.

This newsletter covers enterprise storage and memory infrastructure — it isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has subscribed, contact us and we'll remove the address.

If we change how we collect or use personal information, we'll update this page and revise the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes affecting how we use your email address will be announced in the newsletter itself before they take effect.
