About

Who writes this, and how

The Storage and Memory Signal is written and edited by AiInfraEnergy.com Editors, tracking the physical and architectural layer under AI infrastructure, one week at a time.

What this is

A weekly read on AI storage and memory

Every issue covers what moved in enterprise storage, hyperscaler infrastructure, HDD/SSD capacity and pricing, and HBM/DRAM/memory news relevant to AI training and inference — plus one deep-dive story and one storage or memory term explained properly. A running Index tracks a few figures issue over issue, and a Vendor Tracker keeps a standing snapshot of where the major HBM makers stand. Occasionally, a comprehensive Field Report replaces the weekly format for topics that need more room.

How it is researched

Sourcing and fact-checking

Each issue draws on trade press (Blocks & Files, Tom's Hardware, StorageReview, TrendForce, and others), market-research analysts, and the newsrooms of the vendors and organizations we cover directly — Samsung, SK hynix, Micron, Seagate, Western Digital, SNIA, and more. Every figure that matters — pricing, capacity, market share — is cited back to a source in that issue's Sources list. When a figure is disputed between sources, we say so rather than picking one silently. When we get something wrong, we correct it in the next issue rather than quietly editing the old one.
